Gli Amministratori possono bloccare utenti e IP individuali (o gamme di IP, vedi qui). Gli utenti o gli IP bloccati potranno vedere le pagine, ma non potranno modificare o caricare i file.

Gli utenti possono essere bloccati per tanti motivi. Ogni wiki può avere la sua politica per il blocco, ma generalmente, puoi essere bloccato per:

• Vandalismo ripetuto.
• Non rispetto delle regole.
• Inserimento di pagine che violano il diritto d'autore.

Gli admin danno generalmente un avviso prima di bannare. Devi avere una e-mail funzionante nelle tue preferenze così potrai essere contattato se sarai bloccato. Di solito si blocca per un breve periodo di tempo, specialmente se si blocca un IP.

Se credi di esser stato bloccato senza motivo, puoi contattare la persona chi ti ha bloccato. Fagli vedere l'intero messaggio dove stavi facendo la modifica della pagina, così loro potranno rimuovere il blocco se hai ragione. Se un vandalbot attacca altre wiki, è possibile bloccarlo subito. Se ne vedi uno, cerca di contattare un membro del VSTF che trovi anche qui VSTF IRC channel oppure lo staff via Special:Contact se qualcuno è disponibile.

Anonymous o altri proxy sono generalmente bloccati, quando li identifichiamo.

Cerca di non bloccare ISP proxy perché questo bloccherà un determinato numero di utenti.

Dobbiamo bloccare in serie?Modifica

I blocchi in serie sono poco raccomandati finché non ti imbatti in un vandalismo esagerato che supera il limite della decenza e hai ragione di bloccare in serie.

Sì. Puoi personalizzare il testo entrando in MediaWiki:Blockedtext nella sezione della tua wiki.

Come bloccare?Modifica

Per bloccare un utente, gli admin devono usare la pagina speciale Speciale:Blocca.

1. Inserisci il nome del utente o l'IP utente che vuoi bloccare.
2. Seleziona il tempo di blocco. Ricordati che il blocco dovrà essere il meno durevole possibile. Se il tempo di blocco che tu vuoi dare non è nella lista, puoi comunque scriverlo nella casella sottostante.
3. Scrivi il motivo del blocco. Se ritieni che merita aggiungi il motivo nella casella sottostante. Ricordati che la persona bloccata (o qualsiasi altro utente) vedrà il motivo, quindi per essere coretti e chiari, sii esaustivo e gentile.
4. Un IP bloccato blocchera tutti gli utenti di quell'IP, sia che facciano il Login o no. Siccome l'IP può essere anche condiviso, you can over-ride this to leave logged in users unaffected by the ban. Check the box marked "Block anonymous users only" to do this.
5. A side effect of this, is that an anonymous user could create a new account to bypass the ban. So you can counter this by checking the box marked "Prevent account creation".
6. If a logged in user is banned, then they could evade the ban by logging out and editing anonymously. To prevent this, you can set the block to include the IP that the logged in user is using. Check the box marked "Automatically block the last IP address used by this user, and any subsequent IPs they try to edit from".
7. In extreme cases, problem users have continued to cause problems via the "email this user" feature. To prevent this, admins can remove this feature for blocked users. Check the box marked "Prevent user from sending e-mail". Warning: It's important that blocked users have some way of discussing their block, and email is often the best way. This box should be used sparingly and only when email is being used abusively.
8. When you have finished filling in the form, click "block this user" to complete the block.
9. The form also gives useful links, to allow you to edit the block reasons template, go to the unblock page, and view blocks that are already active.

Global blocksModifica

A global block is one of the tools that staff and VSTF can use to help deter spam or vandalism on Wikia wikis. This feature allows a block on a user name or IP across all Wikia. It also allows the blocking of similar user names, for example all names containing "on wheels."

How do I block a user on all Wikia?Modifica

If there is spam or vandalism on your local Wikia, and you feel they may be happening elsewhere and the user or IP may need to be blocked on all Wikia wikis, then please contact Wikia staff or contact the SpamTaskForce.

This ability is used sparingly and problems on one wiki do not necessarily mean that a user should be blocked on all other Wikia. In general, this is only used for large scale or persistent vandalism over several wikis, or for impersonations. If there a problem happening only locally, please contact the admins of that wiki, or if there are no admins, see above.

What do I do if I am caught in a global block?Modifica

If you are accidentally caught in a global block or were blocked for something via a global block, the first step would be to try to contact the person who blocked you. If that does not work, please use Special:Contact to contact Wikia staff. In order to effectively locate the block and look into the matter, you must include all of the information in the box you see while you're blocked, especially the block ID.
